Mean Girls High School Version Auditions
Kat Studios is thrilled to announce auditions for our Spring Show Mean Girls High School Version.
Consider this your invitation from Regina George herself to audition for this fiercely hilarious musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a “Revenge Party” to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.
Adapted from Fey’s hit 2004 film, Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards. This queen-bee took Broadway by storm and has joined the musical in-crowd. And now, so can you with Mean Girls High School Version!
Auditions for students currently in grade 8 through 12+ will be held Mid September BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
19+ Age groups will be considered to audition for older Character roles.

Please prepare 45-60 seconds of a song in the style of Mean Girls (but no songs from Mean Girls). Please bring your own Mp3 Track, Please, no a cappella. ( Round 1 Auditioners Do not need to Prep a new song).
Rehearsals are scheduled on Thursdays from 5:30-8:00 pm in Bishop Macdonell’s Theatre Auditorium. Extra nights may be added as the show nears production week. Please keep Monday evenings from 5:30 pm onward open. IMPORTANT BONUS One (1) ( 45 min ) Private Lessons is included monthly per performer (Cost included in Production fee’s). Note A selected time and date can be organized once casted. All conflicts will be taken into consideration when casting roles. Cast members are not allowed any absences during tech week.
The production will take place May 1-3, 2025 ( Thur-Sat) 4 Showings at 200 Clair Rd W Bishop Macdonell Celtic Arts Center.
Production Fee: $1650 for one family member and $1550 for each additional family members. PLEASE NOTE: We at Kat Studios believe that theatre should always be accessible. As such, Here at Kat studios it’s important that ALL performers have the equal opportunity to participate in productions and we know sometimes the fee’s can impact performers participation. If Production fee’s are impacting your decision to register please contact Kat Directly to set up a customized payment plan.
The production fees include all required show material including, scripts, costumes, show t-shirts, professional pictures and video for downloading. Individual Professional coaching which includes One (1) ( 45 min ) monthly Private Lessons per performer.
